maDeadliest suicide bombing in Iraq in recent two years

The news comes from L.A Times.Two Car suicide bombs explored in the heart of downtown Baghdad and killed 147 people Sunday. There were 700 additional injured people sent to hospital constantly. This attack seems made by some terrorists group attempting undermine a crucial national elections due in January. The reactions in Iraqi political parties go different ways. “Election officials have warned that if there is no agreement soon, they may have to delay the vote, which could also delay the planned withdrawal of U.S. troops, scheduled to take place after the polling” (8, Iraq car bombings kill 147). The different voice from Prime Minister Maliki, saying they sought to “create chaos in the country, derail the political process and prevent the parliamentary elections," according to a statement from his office. He vowed that the elections would be held on schedule. However, normal people in Iraq care their safety more than political contradiction. They think Iraqi government failed at protecting their people. This breaking new not only shocks Iraq, but also United States and President Obama who issued a strongly worded statement condemning “ these outrageous attacks on the Iraqi people” (12, Iraqi car bombings kill 147) immediately after the attacking. This bloody attack presses him to reconsider his promise to withdraw U.S militaries in Iraq.
This new shocked me, not just the number of victims. The increasing violence in Iraq becomes global problem. The chaos in Iraq not just suffers Iraqi people, but more effect oil price which tires to world economic and global terrorism. Though my personal opinion, U.S troops in Iraq is the critical point. I think U.S should not withdraw without helping Iraq build their own military strong enough to protect their government and people. This bloody attack is the best evidence. If U.S government and Obama can’t find a good way to solve this problem instead withdrawing troops, this attack will just be the beginning of chaos.
